Volunteering at CHERUBS

Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Volunteers

CHERUBS is proud to work with dozens of amazing people who give generously of their time and talents to help the CDH community.   Learn how you too can help families affected by Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia.




Easy Ways To Volunteer - the following volunteer positions need sign no paperwork or follow formalities.  Simply do what you can and send in your work / donations:

  • Knitters & Crocheters - knit or crochet baby blankets, booties or baby hats for our CDH HOPE Totebag Program
  • Translators - translate our downloadable CDH materials so that we can better help families of all languages
  • CDH Library Volunteers - help us create a valuable source of information simply by submitting links to CDH research articles


Great Ways To Honor / Remember Your Cherub - looking to do a litle more but don't want to commit to a volunteer position?   This is the


CHERUBS Volunteer Staff  - no one at CHERUBS receives a salary.   We are run by CDH parents, grandparents, survivors and researchers who simply want to help CDH families.
  • Our Board Members - The parents and medical professionals that make up our Board of Directors
  • Advisory Committee - Our group of parents that help advise us on new ideas and problems
  • Our President- The person who answers the phone, does the mail, and various other duties
  • Volunteer Coordinator - The people who help organize and rally our volunteers
  • Newsletter Editor- Our newsletter proofreader, organizer and editor


Local Support Services - volunteers that help CDH families on International, State and Local Levels
  • State & International Representatives  - Contact your state or international Representative for information on local resources
  • Hospital Angels - Be an on-call person for your local CDH hospital

CHERUBS Committee Volunteers - our projects wouldn't succeed without the help of our committee members
  • Research Committee - Doctors and parents who help us with our CDH Survey Results
  • Conference Committee - Members that help us plan and organize our annual conferences
  • Welcoming Committees - Volunteers that help other parents learn to use our on-line services
  • Translators - Need help translating our materials?  These people can help
  • Fundraising Committee - The people that come up with ideas to raise money to keep us going
  • Card / PM Committee - Volunteers that send out birthday, memorial, and holiday messages 
  • Grant Committee - The volunteers that search for organizations to help fund us
  • On-Call Committee - Need someone to talk to?  Our On-Call Parents are ready to lend an ear
  • Awareness Committee - The people that lead the world's largest CDH organization in raising awareness of CDH
  • Book Committee - Volunteers working on several books to help CDH families
